CCPs vs OPRPs: what's the difference and why it matters
Operational prerequisite programmes (OPRPs) are often confused with CCPs. Here's how to tell them apart, with worked examples.
The decision logic
If loss of control would likely result in an unsafe product and there is no later step that will eliminate or reduce the hazard to acceptable, it is a CCP. If loss of control would increase the likelihood of a hazard but is managed by a programme rather than a measurable in-line limit, it is an OPRP.
